The first release of the project was called "The Kyoto Connection - The First voyage". It was entirely composed by independent music producer Facundo Arena, in a little home-studio, down in Argentina. By then, the album was released for free on the Internet (with a Creative Commons License), and the result was inmediate: 20.000 downloads all over the world, and tons of petitions for using the music on podcasts, TV shows, movies, radio and other types of mass media channels.
Songs with easy to remember chords progressions, very direct lyrics and japanese sounds, mixed with hypnotic electronic ambient soundscapes where the perfect combination for turing a very small project into one of the most important Creative Commons-Licensed music initiatives.

The big popularity of the first album was the main impulse for starting to work in a second part. In 2007, now in his own recording studio (BakerStreet Studio), Facundo Arena calls Rodrigo Trado (drummer), Jesica Rubino (violins, guitars, vocals) and Marian Benitez (main vocals); asking them for participation on the new project . The Kyoto Connection II has the same objetive: to transport the listener to another place, but with a much more ambicious, defeating and evolved sound.

A year and half later, the second part makes it's appearance on the Internet, again under a Creative Commons License. And the result, this time, is bigger than ever: thounsands of downloads, new petitions for using the music commercialy, and tons of mails with nice critics.

With two albums, months of intense work and, most of all, tons of love, The Kyoto Connection introduces itself to you, and the whole world.

Enjoy the voyage.
