Mick Sussman

To make my experimental electronic music, I divide a series of sound files into tiny fragments, randomize them, and organize those clips into slowly evolving looped patterns. Inspired by Conlan Nancarrow, I often superimpose tracks in different tempos. Some of my pieces use sounds synthesized by simple shareware applications, others use samples taken from this and other copyleft sites. The resulting music is meant to be both minimalist (in the sense of mesmerizing webs of slowly changing sound) and maximalist (in the near-cacophonous density of noises). Enjoy!
