LDX#40 is a one-man-project residing in Frankfurt / Main (Germany). The mission is to produce Kunstscheisse (literal translation: art crap) in any imaginable form. So far, the areas of music, video and photography have been covered.
The music of LDX#40 is exclusively produced by using the Commodore C64. Older tracks are done on a single machine (sometimes also in emulation on a PC) and are basically completely pre-set. The more recent stuff utilizes two C64s running in parallel and the sound is manipulated and recorded live.
The aim is to produce modern music on this ancient computer and to get away from the typical C64 retro sound. Musical influences cover a wide range of electronic music, ranging from electropop to experimental noise (via techno, drum and bass and industrial).
