Equatorial
ukelele and vocal track (complete song) Lyrics: In that old equatorial heat Was a man at the side of the street Singing why do I burn my feet When my brothers are running free? In the trees of the jungle deep Not too far from that village street Was a bird in a shallow sleep Dreaming of being free We are all hungry And we all need to love Animals all are we When it all comes down to luck I'm hanging upside down With my smile in a crooked frown We are jumping to shake the ground Smoking to smoke them out Bet you didn't know When it turns all into snow You're not gonna be long gone In face we'll be holding on We are all hungry And we all need to love Animals all are we When it all comes down to luck

All the World
ukelele and vocal track (complete song) Lyrics:To those on high, we've got to let you go. for open minds to give us some hope. you got your time for being in control. we've got to let you go. all the world could touch you, it just takes one. all the world could hold you. you fear no love. you got so free it brought them to their knees. who's gonna know you in the end? not the finest of these men. so make it right. don't you forget what it's like to have nothing on your mind.

Morning Sun
when i was a walking just to pass the time i was losing sleep for losing my mind. the sun wouldnt rise for the sake of me. it just sat back behind the sea. when i was a hollering for my mother the sky refused to give me cover. it just cried to save my soul and laid out tomorrow. so i look up at that morning sun and howl til it gives me some. i look up at that morning sky and howl until it's mine. most of my days arent something special. got a job on the lowest of levels. got a man, he ain't so fine but man does he love me all of the time. and if i go a hollering up to heavens it just echoes in a whole lot of nothing. its just trying to say to me, you got a heaven right under your feet.

Keep the Fire
ukelele and vocal track (complete song) Lyrics:there's people in the hall calling out for love. there's people down below all riled up. and all accross the town we got you. calling it a night and saying that you're through. oh how i love that time, when all you want is just to keep the fire. oh you got a fine condition when all you want is just to keep on wishing. you got a pattern that needs repeating, i know you got a drum that needs some beating. i know you got love right down to your shoes. i know you gotta find out who to give it to.

When You're Older
ukelele and vocal track (complete song) Lyrics:there's something so right in the way the world moves today. spitting out fog like some old fashioned train. there's something so nice in the way we've been spending life. a day at a time and drinking the night away. i'll still be here when you're older. i'll still be feeling the same. i won't be tired or sober. i'll still know just how you came. there's something so right in the way the world breathes today. spitting out fog like you did on your morning break. something so fine in the way we've been spending life. a day at a time, and i want you to know now babe. i'll still be here when you're older. i'll still be feeling the same. i won't be tired or sober. and i'll still know just how you came.

King of the Street
ukelele and vocal track (complete song) Lyrics: drove out to the fading heat. cadillac that king of the street. bright summer and dark red paint. sets in with time to waste. drove out to the fading blue. took a road for a day or two. found your footsteps, followed them too. aimed for the stars and ready.didn't try to prove you wrong those days we'd get along. we made up for the days we lost in the great wide open. i lived each hour to prove you right, those days we didnt fight. they were few and far between but they were there for something. somehow when the year came in i coulda done most anything. couldnt drive so i took my feet right beside the king of the street.

Jenny Mahon is a Toronto based indie singer-songwriter, and visual artist. Born and raised on the West Coast of Barbados, she travelled to Canada at the age of seventeen. Mahon fronted the Toronto rock group, ADA, until the release of its 2008 album Leave That Town . ‘I'm very much inspired by growing up in the Caribbean, and it's wonderful to return to the basic sound of playing a beat-up guitar on the beach,’ says Mahon. ‘I feel like I've gone full circle, where I left as a teenager for the big city rock scene, and now I'm back to writing simple, mellow songs.’
Under Mahon’s own Recordings from the Brightside. , ‘Keep the Fire’ was released digitally this June 2009. The Village Voice Hudson described the album as a ‘whirlwind’ of six acoustic songs, made only in one day. She continues to write and collaborate with artists in Toronto, and openly shares her creative process with the Brightside’s online community.
