The name DOKAPI stems from the Esperanto du kapoj - two heads, the duo formed by guitarist Titus Koestler-Philipp and pianist Tilman Sommer. During the work on Rock and Pop productions at the end of the eighties, the idea arised to compose instrumental music expressing the musical roots and preferences of both musicians.
The soulful and inspiring music of Dokapi sets a contemplative mood with the listeners, sparking their imagination and letting their mind wander, some kind of soundtrack for daydreaming. The distinctive features are the influences of Jazz-Rock, frequent improvisations of guitar and piano, the emphasis of rhythm and the balance of acoustic and electronic sounds.
